  • How can I tell which way seats face?

    Coach cars have seats that can face in groups of four. From one corner of the car count in groups of 4. Dining cars also have booths with tables in groups of 4.

  • Where do we park for an excursion train?

    We will have parking attendants in front of the museum assisting in places to park. We use our neighbors parking lots and also street parking.

  • Do children 2 and under require a ticket?

    Children 2 and under that do not require a seat and can sit in a lap do not require a ticket.

  • What is ‘dome’ seating?

    Dome seating is in the middle of car 9400. These seats are in a glass dome up above the roofline of the dome car for a 360 degree view. Dome car seats can face the direction of travel. There are only 20 seats in the dome car and they usually sell out quickly. Dome seats are all one price, there are no children’s price for dome seats.

  • What is the difference between dining car and coach seating?

    Dining car seating is primarily booth type seating with a table and coach seating is similar to motor coach style seating.

  • How many seats are there in a car?

    Most of our cars have 48 seats, we do have one coach that has 76 seats.

  • Are there restrooms on the train?

    Yes, there are restrooms located in several cars on the train. Restrooms are typically locked until we are underway due to a limited water supply.

  • When do the train excursions operate?

    We operate theme based trips on select Saturdays per our schedule. We do not operate during the week due to heavy freight train traffic.

  • Is there food for sale on the train?

    We do sell food and beverages on the train. The menu varies sometimes but normally we have bottled water, soft drinks, beer, coffee, various snacks, hamburgers and hot dogs.

  • What if I have special needs?

  • Can I get a refund once I purchase my tickets?

    We do not provide refunds.

  • Do the train cars have heat and air-conditioning?

    All of our train cars have heat and air.

  • Can I bring my dog or pet on the train?

    We do not allow pets on the excursion trains.

TCRM only permits on board our trains, “service animals” as defined by Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act. For the safety and comfort of our other passengers, pets and “comfort” animals are not allowed.
